Consisting of more than 24 faculty members, a dynamic mix of diverse younger and more seasoned faculty, who were all selected for their outstanding teaching abilities, the faculty are dedicated to enriching a fellow-centric teaching environment. The program is always focused on education: promoting innovative and flexible approaches to learning.
All faculty are trained to ensure that teaching is individualized, promoting progressive independence in a nurturing, supportive environment. In two leading tertiary care hospitals – North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center (located only 2 miles apart), a state-of-the-art ambulatory practice and transplantation facilities, fellows are exposed to the broad spectrum of kidney diseases. Among the faculty are world-renowned experts in chronic kidney disease, glomerular diseases, ICU nephrology, cardiac nephrology, women’s health in nephrology, onconephrology, and many other subjects.
Fellows are trained in state-of-the-art technology, such as hand-held ultrasound, offered at only a handful of training programs in the nation, as well focus tracks leading to specific certificates of expertise, available within the traditional two-year fellowship. Check out fellow testimonials
